Sunscreens Harmful, Not the Sun!

Optimal vitamin D levels are one of your best protections against any kind of cancer - and regular sun exposure (without sunscreen) is the best way to achieve it. Before sun block creams were introduced in the 1960’s people believed that the sun was good for them, and would have no fear about daily exposure to its energy and healing rays.
Our bodies respond very positively to healthy amount of exposure to the sun, and it not only prevents and reverses disease, but it makes us feel good as well. In northern Europe seasonal depression is very common in the winter months as there is very little sun available. This depression is often healed very quickly once the sun comes out. When I say a healthy amount of exposure to the sun I mean that you should never stay out long enough for your skin to burn. That is not healthy and may lead to skin cancer.
So how much sun exposure is enough?
For a fair skinned person 20 minutes per day of exposure is adequate to produce the necessary amount of vitamin D required, however a darker skinned person will require at least 40-60 minutes per day of sun exposure. By exposure I mean that at least 50% of your body should be naked.
Don’t expose yourself to the sun during the hottest part of the day, early morning or late afternoon are the best times.
