Universal Remote: Harmony’s SST-695 universal remote.
Ease of use & ease of setup! The best feature has to be
Harmony’s client software and online configuration process.
After you load the software and log in to Harmony’s
site, just enter the model numbers of the devices you want
to control and answer some basic questions about how you want
your devices to interact. The data is then downloaded into
the remote via an included USB cable. If you add or remove
new components, you just log in and edit your profile.
That’s it! This is the very best and easiest way
to ‘train’ your remote device!
DVD AND CD Burner: HP DVD Movie Writer dc3000. How about
an external DVD burner that also creates CDs! This new
product helps you copy all those VHS tapes that are going
bad in this Balinese humidity into safe DVDs that you can
watch for years! Yes, this baby from HP does all that
and more. The Movie Writer integrates the hardware you

US$25. The keyboard I previously reviewed was the Logitech
“Cordless Desktop Pro” and it WAS US$42.
Flat-panel monitor. I reviewed (and own) the Samsung
SyncMaster 151S. 15 inch flat-panels are still
around US$250-300; the 17 inch have dropped from US$400-600
to under US$350; while the huge 19+ inch are now under US$550.
DVD burners. I recommended the Sony DRU500A because
it deals with all DVD formats and is definitely a superior
model at this point in time. It has now dropped in price to
around US$300
