Every time you look in the mirror which is usually (at least) a couple of times a day, your face can appear clear, bright & taut, other times, it looks dull, tired & droopy. Your face, as they say, is the mirror to your soul. So, is it time to ‘beat the clock’ & check out a few new procedures?
BIMC is not just a hospital, but it has incorporated a small anti-ageing clinic for the latest in non surgical cosmetic treatments. Under strict & rigorous health & safety guidelines, you can bare your soul (and your face) and have complete assurance that all procedures will be followed to the max. You can walk out of the clinic & feel totally marvelous, knowing that many of your lines have softened, diminished & gone for at least some months.
Much has been discussed about Botox & fillers for around the mouth, but what about the jawline or jowls, this is an area that most people have a hard time coming to terms with and this area of concern can put ‘years onto your face’.
The Options?
Mesotherapy is the first option - where a tiny needle is inserted into the skin (under chin area) a number of times injecting some medication. The idea is that within a few days the fat ‘held’ within the pocket under the chin has dispersed & one is left with a more enhanced jawline (sounds very good to me) Mesotherapy can also work wonders on the upper arms, inside thighs & stomach area. This is perhaps the first treatment that one should contemplate before real surgery (if this is the way you decide to go) It’s a treatment that is less invasive which seems to be the direction that cosmetic doctors are taking nowadays. One of the most important aspects after a session of Mesotherapy is to drink loads of fresh water to dispel the ‘fat’ & medication from the body, making you feel a whole lot better too.
The second thought for consideration is what is known as the Aptos Stitch Lift, which they say can produce similar efforts of a full face life at the fraction of the cost. Basically, it’s a small incision made under the hairline (near the ear) and the thread is inserted through this incision. The threads are then adjusted to the correct tension for lifting the skin and then sutured or stitched deep within the skin. There are no real scars and the effects are immediate, lasting for approx 5 years. The small incisions are performed using a local anesthetic and recovery only takes a couple of days. A little bruising or swelling may happen of course, but in a week the stitch under the hairline is removed and VOILA, there you are. I am sure a wonderful new you will emerge with less lines & puffiness on the lower face & jowl area. This procedure can also be performed for the brow area with a small incision at the front of the hairline.
Apparently the Aptos Stitch Lift procedure is gaining popularity and having read a letter (from a very satisfied client) I believe it appropriate to report the ‘gist’ of her comments.
‘After seeing myself in my son’s wedding video, I looked ten yrs older than what I was, the jowl area was particularly bad. In a couple of months I would be making a filmed presentation overseas for my work – this now filled me with dread, on how ‘old’ I would look. So, something needed to be done! After an informative consultation with the Western consultant at the BIMC clinic, I made the appointment for the procedure. The consultant was present at the procedure and was careful to make sure that I clearly understood what the Dr was doing and what aftercare was required.
The results were perfect…. subtle enough, not too obvious and several comments on how relaxed and healthy I looked. Seeing a reflection that is more in resonance with the person I feel myself to be has been an amazing way to start the day and has given me more confidence to make the best of my public work’
The pics I have included within this column are not of the client I have written about, they are general pics that provide an illustration of a ‘before & after’ of the procedure.
Truly, this anti-ageing business is rather amazing, all I can say is it’s up to the individual, but it’s happening out there, all over the world, in Bali too. You can either embrace the fact and not let go, or let nature take it’s natural course...
