“Balance is the key to a happy and healthy life,” says Bali trainer, Katie Serino. “It’s easy to go away on a retreat for weight loss, stress reduction or fitness, the challenging part is maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle when you return to the real world.”
Growing up as a competitive gymnast in Virginia, USA, Katie discovered at an early age how much she loved physical fitness! After her gymnastics career ended, she went on to study Exercise Physiology and Nutrition at the University of North Carolina. While obtaining her degree, she also managed to become a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, a certified Yoga Alliance teacher, and a certified Pilates Mat teacher. She watched many people in her family suffer unnecessarily from diseases that she knew in her heart were related to poor eating habits, sedentary lifestyle and stress, that she decided to commit her life to helping others enhance their well-being through exercise and diet.
After graduating, she went on to train and educate people in North Carolina, California, Hawaii, Costa Rica and Bali, and has helped many people reach their goals and accomplish things they never thought possible.
What to Expect
When you contact Katie for information about her Balance Bali Workouts, she will meet with you one-on-one for an initial Health and Fitness Assessment, where you will confidentially discuss medical conditions, goals, nutrition, stress and fitness levels. She will then begin to create a program specifically designed for you because she believes that each individual is different and their bodies and minds have different needs. Her programs include a combination of aerobic/cardiovascular fitness, strength training, yoga, pilates mat and nutrition. One example of a balanced hour of training would be the 20/20/20 program, consisting of 20 minutes of aerobic exercise, 20 minutes of core strengthening and body lengthening pilates and 20 minutes of strengthening, stretching, and relaxing yoga; leaving you feeling energized and refreshed!
She doesn’t just teach you how to exercise and eat right, she teaches you to love it, to crave it and let it be a priority in your life. Your session will be fun, creative and adventurous, filled with variety so you are never watching the clock! She focuses a lot on breathing no matter what form of exercise you are doing, therefore increasing your lung capacity, lowering blood pressure and reducing stress levels.
Her programs can help:
- Weight/fat loss
- Build muscle
- Improve aerobic capacity
- Increase energy
- Improve flexibility
- Prevent disease

Her programs can also help with fatigue, depression, high blood pressure, diabetes, allergies, arthritis, insomnia, asthma, high cholesterol, shallow breathing, muscle tension and anxiety.
