Rp. 245 Million Lost in Car
Adachi, 30, a Japanese tourist staying in Renon, was driving his car on Jalan Cok Tresna on Wednesday (24/12) when he had a flat tire. As he was busy replacing the tire, an unidentified man entered his car and took his black bag. The bag contained ¥ 2,500, Rp 40 million cash, a Denpasar-Japan ticket, domestic ticket, credit card and passport. Adachi suffered Rp 245 million in losses. The case is being investigated by Denpasar Police. (Denpost Dec. 26)
 
Illegal Residents Netted
A joint team from the Badung Regency netted 220 residents that do not have official identity cards in Dalung Permai Housing Complex, Kerobokan and Dalung Village on Tuesday (23/12). Most of them do not have resident identity cards, temporary resident identity cards or temporary identity papers. They work as private employees, laborers, students and house maids. (BP Dec. 24)
 
Bakso with Borax
The result of a laboratory investigation by the Food & Drug Investigative Body of Denpasar on bakso and fresh fish in Jembrana found that over 54 percent of the bakso in the samples contain borax, ranging from 0.63 ppm to 132.142 ppm although the regulations of Ministry of Health does not allow the use of the       chemical. However, the investigation did not find formalin or E. coli and Salmonella bacteria in the bakso. (BP Dec. 22)
 
Suspect Who Beat Korean Tourist Surrenders
The man that allegedly harmed a Korean tourist, Sang Sokin, 28, on Jalan Tukad Gerinding, Sanur, on Thursday (18/12) finally surrendered to Sanur Police Headquarters. The suspect, Menir, admitted that he was drunk. As reported earlier, when Sokin rode a motorcycle on Jalan Tukad Gerinding, he crossed in front  Menir’s motorcycle several times. Being drunk, Menir stopped Sokin. Menir and his friend beat Sokin nearly to death as they struck him with a broad bladed knife. (Denpost Dec. 22)
 
Veiled Burglars
The rented house of Caroline Hubertine Windth, 37, from Holland, in Renon was broken into by a group of veiled burglars at about 3 am on Wednesday (17/12). Though the burglars did not harm Windth, they took her jewelry, mobile phone, Seiko watch and cash. She suffered around Rp. 6.5 million losses. (Denpost Dec. 19)
 
Motorcycle Robbery
When riding her motorcycle on Wednesday (17/12) in Banjar Kangkang, Mengwi, Caturyani, 26, from Mengwi was tailed by a man on motorcycle. In a deserted place, the man forced  her to stop. He was intent on taking her motorcycle. Upon defending her motorcycle, the man choked her until she fainted and the          man got away with the motorcycle. Chief of Mengwi Police, AKP I Made Pastika, explained that the robbery occurred at 6.30 pm. (Denpost Dec. 19)
 
PMI Not A Blood Trading Agent
Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) put aside the allegation that it acts as an agent for blood trade. “PMI never sells donated blood”  said dr. Gede Ngurah Budiyasa, Head of Blood Transfusion Unit of Mangaya Hospital on Thursday (17/12). (BP Dec. 18)
