Coral Reefs in Nusa Lembongan Damaged
The head of the Klungkung Office of Poultry, Fishery and Marine, Ir. I Made Matra, said that around 80 are of coral reefs in Nusa Lembongan are damaged. It has been caused by natural factors and also marine tourism, anchoring and marine transportation. He proposed to rehabilitate the coast by making artificial coral reefs from concrete cylinders. Dengue Fever Infects Buleleng

Fire in Discotheque
Janger Discotheque on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Sanur, was gutted by fire on Tuesday (17/2). The fire originated from the AC in the bar. An employee said that at 7 pm he heard an explosion by the bar. In seconds, the fire gutted the roof of the building. The club had no visitors at the time. Six fire trucks and 46 fire fighters tried to extinguish the fire. (BP Feb. 18)
Hepatitis A
Based on the investigation of Bangli Health Office, it was reported that the hepatitis A outbreak that infected 18 residents in Banjar Buayang, Bangli, was started with a lunch at a ngaben ceremony in October last year. Hepatitis A is spread by contaminated food. (Nusa Feb. 17)
Japanese Tire Victim
A Japanese named Tomochika Nakatsukasa, 39, from Sanur had a flat tire as he drove on Jl. Sudirman Denpasar, on the way home from the bank. He left the car to make a phone call without locking the doors. When he returned to the car, 40 million rupiah inside the car was gone. He reported the incident to Denpasar City Police. Avian Influenza Vaccine
The long wait of poultry breeders in Bali for avian flu vaccine is finally over. On Friday (13/2), the vaccine will be distributed to the infected chickens starting in Banjar Sabha Penatih. Though behind schedule, the 200,000 dosage vaccine complies with the promise of Minister of Agriculture Bungaran Saragih in a meeting several days ago. “The number of birds is Bali is nearly 10 million, it is impossible to provide the vaccine for all of them. We focus on the regions that are affected the most,” said Head of Bali Poultry Office Ida Bagus Raka. (Nusa Feb. 13)
Chaos at Kuta Beach
Strong winds carrying sand blocked the road along Jalan Pantai Kuta. On the beach, garbage is everywhere turning the beach into a chaotic site. Vendors on the beach have been mobilized to dispose of the garbage but it does not help much since the garbage keeps coming. (Denpost Feb. 13)
