As you drive along Jl Kerobokan take note on the left hand
side (as you get closer to Warisan restaurant) till you come
to a small group of stores set back off the road, this is
where this little hidden gem lies - BaliGEN.
The business is owned by a Mr Dila, who took his Engineering
degree in Germany, he works with a skilled band of artisans
who turn out quality accent furniture and handicraft for a
growing band of international customers. Mr. Dila himself,
sets his staff and workers with a strict ‘Germanic’
set of quality control standards that certainly make for quality
product. But apart from the furniture, I just love the collection
of raffia basketware that is on display, along with some lively
rattan floor coverings, perfect for a stylish entrance to
your villa or hotel space. The basket ware feature color combos
that are smart with slashes of the unusual, along with unique
weaving detail. The shapes are odd, many baskets have one
or two within, perfect for a display item or put to good use
to hold all your bits. A good laundry or waste paper basket,
storage containers, boxes of all sizes, featuring strips of
border trim, many covered in eye catching vinyl shades. It’s
