A hot new boutique on the scene & another which continues to dazzle for inexpensive flashy fashion! store re-locations, along with some tidbits of information that keeps the fashion wheels turning -
Aphrodite – LOOK AT ME, NAUGHTY OR NICE?
Came across this little gem recently, having worked my way back up Jl Double 6, cross over to Jl Raya Legian to the other side & keep going. A couple of shops along on the left hand side, you will come across a bright red awning to announce your arrival here at Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, lies in repose, or does she strike out at you, drag you in & seduce! RED is the predominant color of this boutique – saucy, sexy, luscious little fashion numbers that would seduce anybody! Of course the other color that lives with RED is BLACK, fashion that is equally seductive, racy, dramatic & bewitching - what more could a young gal ask! Pull on a Lycra or Spandex jersey dress, most are short, many are strapless, add a wide cinched belt, step into some sexy highs (RED of course) & you are ready to ‘paint the town - RED! Actually, there’s another side to the naughty stock here, some very pretty little skirts, tops & dresses, from lolly brights to baby pink. Prints are all the rage, from Pucci to Liberty style. Snap up a bag or some jewels and take a look at the sassy cushions & silky duvets for home. I think LILY has had a real fun time setting up this little boutique full of enticing stock. Price points are very affordable for the PYT’s! Jl Nakula. Blok 3, Legian. T: 737717.
Betty Bu: FUN, DAZZLING AND SEXY FASHION
Now another sexy haven in the area that is crammed full of frippery and finery to wear out on the town, again there are Indian cushions & silks to set that sexy scene. The feel is definitely colorful, raunchy & sums up the mad bohemian gypsy clothing that is Betty Bu. Merchandise is imported & hand picked from all over Asia. Check out the latest fashions for the sultry season, plenty of minis, floaty transparent concoctions, some with a load of bling. Top your look off with exotic jewels, high heels and a good selection of belts. Jl Legian No 24, Legian, Jl Kuta Pantai, No 25A, Kuta and looks like Liane is opening up another down on Double 6?
BALI MYSTIC GALLERY: Again this gallery has enjoyed a major facelift. A large & vibrant space located on the corner of Jl Legian & Jl Kunti, Seminyak, a showroom to check out if it’s art that you are looking for. From flowers, Buddhas, to a massive variation in modern art in assorted color combinations. Vibrant pieces that are popular, inexpensive & perhaps for you, the perfect piece to hang on ‘that’ empty wall.
Now, some newsy bits for your interest with some retailers moving store locations, obviously getting in early before the season commences, favorite names that have made the move or in the midst of making it are ..........
G & V AMAZING CRAFTS – am thrilled that this store continues, it’s one of the best stores offering you unique and interesting treasures, perfect items for gift giving. They were opposite the Montessori School on Jl Laksmana but have moved to a bright new shop front on Jl Raya Basangkasa, next door to the fabulous massage haven Jari Menari ‘dancing fingers’ Jl Raya Basangkasa #47 Seminyak.
You may also wonder if that little bakery at the front of G & V Amazing Crafts, survived too? well yes, their new found home is now half way up on the left hand side of Jl Drupardi, serving up their yummy wood fired Italian bread & brioche, a real bonus for people living in this area.
deLighting – the name for super smart & snazzy light fittings & other accessories for home, office or villa resort. Take a visit to their head office on Jl Gatot Subroto Barat 99 Kerobokan, or the Jl Raya Seminyak store, just up around the corner from Jl Kunti. But their big news is that they are reinventing their deLighting store in Jimbaran Bay into an innovative Lifestyle Store serving up smart food with a twist, along with of course, a gallery of lighting & other wonderful treasures. Keep your eyes peeled, opening early May!
Uluwatu - famous for their crisp whites & handmade Balinese lace have also moved into the Seminyak area right next door to Uma & Leopold that boutique that offers plenty of fashion drama, by Brazilian designer Lara, you can’t miss both stores, they are on the right hand side of Jl Laksmana just before the Montessori School.
One of the retail industry favs for a spot of healthy lunch must go to The Junction for a delicious assortment of fresh soups, salads & wraps and of course Bali Café has settled nicely into ‘the Strip’, you must try their hot Apple Tartin with cream, absolutely dreamy!
Finally, whispers abound about a new bold & stylish Gallery that will surely make ‘a statement’ to open on Jl Oberoi early July (more on this to come) and Will, please hurry up and open that new restaurant, retailers are in desperate need of a new eatery in town (Jl Petitenget, Seminyak, we hear?)
