Ah, August, the party month of the year!
Guess you may wonder why such a fuss? of course it’s the massive influx of visitors to the isle (particularly from the northern hemisphere) so, it’s holiday time - parties, dinners, functions, weddings, gallery openings & more – which means, dressing to suit the occasion.

And a number of new boutiques have opened in recent weeks, providing more alternatives for not only us girls, but guys & littlies too - linen/cottons for daytime shopping, glitzy swimwear for poolside, kaftan cover-ups for drinks, cocktail dresses (long & short) for restaurant, parties & bar hopping, and of course – new shoes, bags, accessories & jewels! Speaking of jewels, have you taken a good look at -

JEMME – a gallery of Classic Fine Jewelry & Silver
Found within a lovely cream English Colonial house, on Jl Petitinget, Seminyak T: 733508 (next door is Dodos café that caters for both breakfast/lunch). But step inside this totally charming salon (it’s obvious that the needs of a client are accommodated within) hand painted wallpaper imbedded with crystals, where majestic chandeliers hang over glass cabinets loaded with sparkling gems, including the most dramatic collection of Butler & Wilson costume jewelry I have seen, where one piece is sure to offset the fashion of choice for your August ‘do’.

But it’s the fine jewels upstairs that I want to rave about, pieces that are one of a kind & to die for (not exactly) but they are just toooo beautiful.

As they say, Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, look at the most popular cuts from the 1.03 Solitaire (round brilliant cut) the 1.75 Pear shape and the 1.56 Marquise, set in a beautiful ’halo’ setting. As you probably know there are different grades of
Diamonds that vary from, color, cut, clarity & carat (known at the 4C’s of a Diamond) and the many ‘shades’ of Diamonds to suit a variety of skin tones.

You will view Diamonds that are set with – South Sea pearls, rubies, emeralds, aquamarine, amethyst & sapphires. Then there are white, pink & blue topaz, citrine, rubilite & green beryl (part of the aquamarine family) rose amethyst, & Tsavorite (like a rare green garnet).

The most popular choice when purchasing a Diamond would be – a ring, a pair of earrings, a chain & pendent, then a bracelet. All items are usually set on Platinum or White Gold.

There is the Pave collection, graded small Diamonds that set together look solid, but provide a super glitter effect. The champagne
Diamonds are stunning, names like Kunzite (a vibrant pink) and Morgenite (soft pink).

Downstairs you can view the fashion jewelry collection, silver chains, rings, cuffs & bracelets which incorporate stones like – Turquoise from Arizona, Coral, Pink Opal, Rose Quartz & Watermelon Tourmaline. The selection is massive, you will find it difficult to resist buying a piece, even if it’s just a pair of earrings!

Jemme, do have a collection for men too - stainless steel, silver, & some items mixed with leather. Bracelets, chains, pendants & rings – smart & masculine for the guy of ‘today’.

For those that we have ‘forgotten too long’, there’s a small range of silk & velvet scarves, some with embroidery, wrapping paper & gift cards for purchase.

Remember, do make an appointment with Maxi the Manager for diamond viewing, each jewelry item is personalized by the designer and of course you will be provided with the appropriate certification on purchase.

What will be in your Jemme Box? Perhaps, for some lucky girl – A Diamond Ring? Jl. Petitenget, Phone 0361-733508 opens Monday to Saturday, 10am – 8pm, closed Sunday. And the new stylish Jemme boutique on Jl Raya Seminyak, No 4A, Seminyak, Phone 0361-737085 E: info@jemmejewellery.com
