Hey, have you noticed that some fashion retailers are opening a second & even a third store. Mind you, if they are manufacturing for one, they might as well have another. Not only this, but in order to ‘get to’ the moving lines of pedestrian traffic, it’s important to have at least a couple of stores on the go. Seems to me that you have to have one store situated around the Bintang end of Jl Seminyak, halfway up around the Café Moka area & then around to Jl Laksmana into Oberoi & on…. and for the adventurous with foresight there is movement to Jimbaran (Vivaqua & Polos, next door to Cocoon) Sanur (Inti Boutique & Blue Glue) & then over to Jakarta (Biasa & now, Sabbatha).
Innuendo – well, they too have got into the groove, opening another chic new fashion store on Jl Raya Seminyak (next door to the lovely homewares store, Serene) with Biasa & Paul Ropp just a few steps away. Catherine Van Osch has outdone herself with this rather swish store that showcases a younger/more daytime version of the original Innuendo Boutique situated further up within Seminyak Blok. Much of the collection is perfect for city (urban) wear. The range hangs in color tones from – grey, black, cream, a little white, grape, olive with some blue, aqua & coral to add spice! The fabrics are mostly a mix of jersey or cotton silk, chiffon, net & stretch silk with the lovely addition of velvet. The use of detail is clever with pleating, ruching, contrast banding, printed fabric & some use of sequins & beads. Such pretty dresses, pants & glorious tops – particularly love the new tabards or tunics worn over slimline pants. All items can be worn from day to evening (‘some items could even be worn to to your Yoga class’ says Catherine) Naturally there is a choice selection of a couple of styles in shoes (high heel & ballet) bags, belts, jewelry & silk chiffon scarves, also a great little range of classic leather headbands (simple but effective using two slim bands of leather with elastic at back) in gold, silver or other tones (about time that we had some new stylish hair accessories, what about some fancy jeweled hair combs & clips?) INNUENDO, JL RAYA SEMINYAK, NO 47, SEMINYAK.
Aura – this little ‘hole in the wall’ on Jl Laksmana No 21x Seminyak (opp. Villa Jodie) is a great find for ready to wear & made to order leather & suede. Apart from a small fashionable range of leather jackets (both men & women) Harry is doing terrific biz with his expanding range of boots, shoes, bags, belts, wraps & smaller accessory purses – all in leather & suede. Now, for us ‘living’ in our comfortable ballet flats, then Aura is the place to take them for a re-color job when they start to look shabby – just had some white ones dyed black, but Harry says he can dye shoes to any color of the rainbow, darn, I should have chosen red or orange!
Peaches – a new bright clothing outlet for the trendy younger set, plenty of frocks for choice along with a selection of hip pants & tops. But guess what? ALL THE MERCHANDISE IS GOING for Rp150,000 A PIECE!!! Hop to it girls, this outlet has just opened (from Friday 30 May) so apart from your bargain price get in and take your pick, remember, ‘first in best dressed’! You will find Peaches located at the very end of Jl Majapahit, but the best way to approach the shop, is to park near the corner of Jl Patih Jelantik (this is the Jalan that Kuta Istana Galeria in on) and walk around the corner. Open from 11am – 7pm, every day except Tuesday.
