Fashion boutiques continue to crop up by the week, one of the newer ones that oozes fresh fashion appeal also displays interior design appeal,
allegra , easy to find, on the same busy Jl Kunti, up from Bali Deli & going west towards Jl Raya Seminyak. You can’t miss it, it has a beautiful thatch of uncut alang alang roofing and my, oh my, just go inside, it’s a definite Alice in Wonderland style. The rattan ceiling combs up and around like a giant wave in the sky, an oversize lamp & shade stands within & thickly entwined tree trunks that spring up out of the floor & wind up into the ceiling space, like Jack in the Beanstalk. Interior designer Rod Sample has shown his skill to the max with his first example into retail space & without a doubt, more retailers will engage him for his fine vision & talent.
The stage is now set & provides a wonderful foil for an imaginative line-up of fabulous vintage style fashion
one-off’s. Natasha’s creative skill harks back to her earlier days of styling for magazines, TV commercials,
theatre shows & other creative works, an obvious gift for the ‘beautiful’ that shows in her fashion range, her style is
unique in that every fashion item displays an edge of vintage which provides the guiding light for her work.
Two labels that share the space are ‘allegra’ which is the ready to wear range & less expensive & ‘Natasha’
which is the exclusive higher price point collection. However, both labels offer special individual touches with
attention to detail.
A varied range of fashion awaits. My eyes alight on the floppy cheese cloth cotton smocks with lace inserts, chambray denim jackets & embroidered shorts, sweet paisley printed items & paper bag style shorts. Then, there is a very lovely ‘Charleston’ shift in black, a ballerina style hot pink dress, an off white or black vintage lace shift & the divine ‘Audrey Hepburn’ black silk satin dress with funnel neckline, lots of silky dresses some with hand beading, to tiny glam tops to team with black crepe satin trim shorts - all so feminine and the perfect attire to take you out & about.
Accessories found at allegra range from ballet flats & gladiator style sandals with stud trim, to sexy highs with fringing or sequins to a good range of bags. And what’s in that glass cabinet? you will spy the most delicious pile of ‘delectables’, hand carved soap, birdlike candles, luxury lotions & potions, feminine undies along with some of the prettiest vintage inspired drop earrings. Make sure you take a good look, bet you will have to buy….
