Do It Yourself Detox Part Two

At various times of the day you will need to write a detox list. The areas of your life you will be thinking about detoxing are health, money, relationships and your home. You should write down for each of these areas where you are blocked or cluttered, and then the action that you will take to unblock it. Examples;

Health Detox
I don’t sleep well.
1. I will stop drinking coffee in the evening and will drink herbal tea instead.
2. I will stop reading my book directly before sleeping.
3. I will start a regular exercise programme.

Money Detox
I spend too much on my credit card every month and interest payments are increasing.
1. I will set a budget and stick to it.
2. I will try to pay in cash to avoid accruing so much interest.

Relationship Detox
I always argue with my partner about how much time they work.
I will set out what I think is a reasonable amount of time for my partner to work, listen to what they think is fair, and then reach a compromise.
I will try to support my partner more in their work life.

Home Detox
My house is full of useless clutter that I don’t need.
Examine your rooms one by one. Take out any items which you do not need or want and give them to the charity shop. This includes clothes and ornaments.

Time Table

6.00am Arise. Drink one glass of water (250mls). Prepare yourself for the day ahead. At times it may not be easy, but it is only for one day and you are capable of getting through it. Now do some gentle activity (short walk, gentle swim, yoga or qigong) for 30 minutes. This will kick-start your body and get all the systems moving. After gentle exercise drink one glass of water (250mls)

7.00am Eat Fruit. Sit to a table when eating and try to sit somewhere with a natural view. Say thanks to the universe or god for the food and that you never have to go hungry. Eat the fruit slowly and consciously. Taste it, feel the texture. When you have finished be grateful again.

7.30am Dry Skin Brushing. Do your routine in the bathroom, all the while thinking about how you are detoxing yourself. When you have finished have a tepid shower and get dressed in natural fibre clothes.

9.00am Eat Fruit. Sit somewhere different this time. Be conscious about the eating process. Observe the view and be grateful.

9.30am Drink water (250mls). As you do so, understand how it quenches your thirst, and is a naturally cleansing substance. Begin writing your detox list. Focus on your actions to detox your health.
10.00am Herbal Tea (250mls). Have a licorice tea. Again be very conscious of its’ taste and what it is doing for you. Licorice is a master herb in Chinese medicine.

10.30am Drink water (250mls).

11.00am Eat Fruit.

11.30am Drink a glass of water (250mls). If you can, do your heat therapy now. Use a steam or sauna room, or have a hot bath.

12.30pm Drink water (250mls).

1.00pm Eat fruit.

1.30pm Drink water (250mls). Use the next thirty minutes to write your money detox list.

2.30pm Drink water (250mls).

3.00pm Eat fruit.

3.30pm Herbal tea (250mls). Try any type you like this time. As you drink it, think about the properties of the tea and what it is doing for you. Now use you time to concentrate on your home detox list.

4.30pm Drink water (250mls).

5.00pm Eat fruit.

5.30pm Drink water (250mls). Use your time to write your relationships detox list.

6.30pm Drink water (250mls).

7.00pm Eat fruit. Run your bath and add the oils, salts and flowers. Sit in the bath in candle light and think about your day. Think of how you have done something good for your mind and body, how you have given them a chance to cleanse. Use your prepared scrub and follow the same routine as the dry skin brushing. Start at your feet and skin every inch of you body, including your face. Try to stay in the bath for twenty minutes at the prepared slightly hot temperature. Whenever you feel you have had enough time in the bath, run the cold tap and let the water start to get cooler. You may need to take the bath plug out as well. Let the water get as cold as you can until you feel tingly and refreshed.

7.30pm Drink water (250mls). You can do this whilst still in the bath.

8.00pm Herbal tea (250mls). Chamomile tea will help you relax and prepare you for a good nights sleep.

9.00pm Bed.

For breakfast the next morning do not eat any heavy protein or fried food. A breakfast of fruit and wholegrain cereals would be best. Try to continue your routine of drinking plenty of water. The rest of the day you may eat normally. Well done!
