Crystal Healing - The Magical Healing Power of Crystals
– Creating Well-Being and Balance.
She lays down in the healing space, relaxes, and after explaining
a little, I begin working with crystals. Using the intuitive
sense I have honed partly through making art, I choose the
first crystals – a pierced disk of pale, smooth rose
quartz, another of stripy purple amethyst, two more pink and
purple crystals. I place them at each corner of her
body. ‘Anchor points’. Then I place
more rose quartz on and around her heart, and, on her navel,
a curious metallic golden disk - a ‘pyrite sun’.
She asked me to ‘give more energy’, and this is
the first time I have conciously tried to introduce something
specific during a healing. The navel chakra* is the
energy centre, that’s why the focus is here. I
suspend my pendulum above the crystal, tune in to the energy
of the sun. My own navel starts to pump – a sign
that the healing is working.
The healing usually goes naturally in stages – first,
laying out the crystals on and around the client’s body,
then moving and adjusting. Sometimes, I use clearing
stones like black tourmaline to drain negativity. Then,
waiting and refining as the process ‘cooks’.
Finally, the completing – removing the stones, and anchoring
the results.
It’s curious – I started doing crystal healing
and every time, I learn more. I feel that the crystals
are teaching me. At times, I’m sweating, prancing
around the client, moving the crystals where they tell me
they want to go. Sometimes they make me work really
hard! I hear an intuitive voice in my head telling me
where the crystals want to go, and also, calling when they
want to come off. Sometimes I hear ‘blue is needed
here’ and put the appropriate colour. If I don’t
have a crystal of the right type or colour, I invite another
similar crystal to ‘stand in’. (As this
is subtle energy work, magical rules apply!) I also
use ‘non-crystal’ objects for healing -
a long ribbon of vibrant orange, for example (great for flow!)
While it is possible to ascribe certain general attributes
to certain crystals (see list) the actual use of them in healing
is much more delicate and subtle than can be put into words!
Rather like, an artist will use the rainbow of colours from
red to purple, though in a painting there may be colours that
don’t have a name and you can’t even really describe
(sludgy tan purple blue...?). Crystal healing is kind
of like that too – a way of creating an ‘aura
painting’, if you like! The subtle energy shades
and the action of the crystals cannot be put into words as
they interract together. In general use though, you
may choose a crystal for a specific purpose ‘for clearing’,
‘for grounding’, ‘for power’, etc.
and it will work for that, though not as far reaching as a
complete healing.
So what’s going on? Well, if I stand close by
you and sing an ‘A’ note, your body will resonate
with an ‘A’ note. Crystals work in much
the same way. They contain memories, energy, wisdom
from aeons that can be transferred to us by proximity, via
vibration or ‘resonance’. They possess a
form of consciousness. Crystals can be used to balance
the subtle energy field – that is, the magnetic field
or ‘aura’ that surrounds every living thing, which
can be seen by ‘kirlian’ photography. It
brings the body into balance, and also works directly on emotional
issues and blocks, releasing them without words (an advantage
– the ‘ego’ or conscious mind is not involved.
This is great, as the ego resists change and can put up barriers
to healing).
How does it feel? The action and energy of the crystals
can sometimes be felt – sometimes a kind of fizzing
energy field or surprising heaviness - recently, a client
found a shell I was using on her throat very heavy –
she couldn’t believe how light it was when she picked
it up after the healing! The results: Afterwards,
clients most often say ‘I feel different!’ Recently
I did a healing for someone that felt ‘complete’
– there was no more to be done. She felt the same
way. Very satisfying! I did another healing which
refined the client’s heart chakra – brought him
to a higher state of being. Most report feeling relaxed
and clearer.
Crystals are much more powerful than is generally realised.
I suspect they may be the root of the mysterious, mythical
Atlantean power source. To give you an example, one
client, whose mother owned a crystal shop, arrived wearing
not one, but about thirty Herkemer diamonds strung casually
on a bracelet. These are among the most powerful healing
crystals available. We ended up using them all in the
healing, along with just about everything else – it
was fine for her, as she was used to such intensity, but I
had to go and hide up the other end of the room, rather like
an X-ray operator! Another client came in the shop to
buy larimar, which is great for releasing tears. It
almost had me sobbing as I took it out of the cabinet, so
strong was the effect!
Choosing Crystals: Because of your own particular energy,
certain crystals will resonate with you and be appropriate
for you at a particular time. As always, listen to your
own intuition, and go with what first grabs your attention!
Here are some of the crystals available:

Practical uses – Radiation: place quartz crystal
near your computer to shield you from harmful rays.
Simply mentally request the crystal to do this for you (and
notice how it responds!). Plants: Fizz up a dying
plant by placing a crystal nearby and requesting it to help.
Non-Functioning equipment: Hold crystal near equipment
and request help making energy flow. No phone signal:
Your phone contains crystal! So just have the intention,
request: ‘I need a phone signal now’. And
see what happens! On the body: simply relax, place
the crystal on or near your body, as seems appropriate (use
in the first way that comes to mind).
Crystal Meditation
In comfortable surroundings, sit with a straight spine facing
your crystal. Inhale deeply, exhale. Inhale, invite
the crystal’s attention. Continue deep breathing.
Meditate on the crystal. If you need help with something,
request the crystal’s help. See what it says.
*According to ancient yogic systems, chakras are energy centres
in the body, spaced along the spine from base (perineum) to
the crown (top of the head). Each has a rainbow colour
from red through white and each should be open and spinning
if your energy is properly balanced and flowing.
