Who is most important to you in your life? Your Mother? Your Children? Your Partner? Contemplate it a moment. It’s a trick question! Ask again, who is the most important person in your life…it’s
You you you you you you you you Y O U !!!
(If this brings up apologetic thoughts like ‘oh I’m not really that important am I?’ then read on…)
You are a sovereign being, here on a divine mission to discover your special unique gift, and play it out, in the world. Have you found it yet? Are you hiding your light under a bushel? Are you living for you, or for someone else?
Similar to the oxygen masks on the plane, we need to help ourselves before we can help others. It’s a common belief that we must put other people first. Not a good idea - we lose ourselves, forget who we are, and let others lead our lives for us!
We need to consider other peoples needs, wants and wishes, having first got clear on our own!
Clearing Negative Commitment Beliefs
Let’s begin by clearing some common subconscious negative beliefs that prevent you from committing to yourself!
·
I don’t want to be here (on the planet)
·
My life feels pointless, meaningless
·
I can’t live without (him, her, my job, my child, etc..)
·
I’m not important
·
I’m not lovable
·
I hate myself
·
I put others first
·
I have nothing to offer
·
I don’t believe in myself
·
I put other people’s needs wants and wishes
before my own
·
I over- and under-commit to things
·
I’m not committed to myself
·
I don’t like myself very much
·
I don’t know why I’m here
·
I compromise myself
·
I fear my greatness
·
I have to do things I don’t want to
·
I don’t stick up for myself
·
I accept second best, I’m second best
·
I must help others
Any belief with ‘must’ creates compulsions. Clear the belief and act from choice.
Subconscious negative beliefs are painful truths about ourselves which we learn from life experiences, usually before age three. Because they are painful, we hide them in our subconscious. Yet, they remain true, and attract their negative truth to us in the form of things we don’t want in our lives! Yuck!
To clear them, we acknowledge that they have been true for us, embrace them, and surrender. In that moment, the belief is turned ‘off’ permanently.
The process* is simply to say out loud:
“
I choose to believe (I don’t want to be here), I love myself when I believe (I don’t want to be here) and I embrace it, I surrender.”
As you say the belief, feel how you feel when you have the belief. As you embrace it, imagine you are hugging a crying three year old, and as you surrender, let go.
Repeat the process for each belief, replacing the words in brackets with each belief on the list. If you happen not to have the negative belief in your subconscious, don’t worry, it has no effect, like turning off a light switch that is already off. You can do all of them. Follow your intuition.
Drink lots of water, and take rest after.
Exercise – Revealing Your Life Purpose
Relax, breathe, and visualise yourself in a beautiful garden. It’s your garden. Notice what you can hear, smell. What is beneath your feet? If anyone is in your garden that you don’t want to be there, politely ask them to leave. Walk to the perimeter of your garden and look at the boundary. Do you have a wall or fence sufficient to hold your space? If not, ask your angels and guides to magic the perfect boundary of your choice. Find your cave. Inside, meet a wise person. They lead you to a special screen showing your life purpose. Relax and watch the show. Enjoy seeing yourself performing and committing to yourself! Live your dream! When you are ready, return to the room.
We all have special gifts to offer the world. Typically they are hidden within the things we LOVE to do! Our life purpose is NEVER something onerous that we don’t want to do, or ‘should’ do! Forget about ‘shoulds’! To allow your life purpose to beautifully unfold, follow what YOU want to do, always. If you love fishing, then fish! If it’s painting, then paint! As you move towards the things you love, your life purpose will move towards you.
Be selective about who you share your dream with – choose ‘believing mirrors’ as Julia Cameron calls them – people who reflect your greatness back to you, not people who pull you down. When others see you truly following what you love to do, it may ‘push their buttons’, especially if they feel guilty at not having the courage to follow their own dream! So find the courage to shimmy and shine and don’t let others put you off!
