We all wonder about our own history. Where we have come from, where we are growing to. Sometimes this takes the form of investigating our family tree, which is our biological history. We have another history though, our spiritual history, and this is what I’m going to explore here.
What I’m going to share is not the result of any ‘belief’ in something, rather, my knowledge of past lives, which from my experience with clients and my own past life memories. Once you have experienced yourself in a past life memory, it’s no longer just an intellectual idea!
Life is a process of learning. We experience something, as a result we learn, and we store the resulting belief in our aura as part of ‘our truth’. Until something else happens that causes us to change a belief, in which case it becomes ‘our new truth’ and again gets stored in our aura. Our sum total of learning, our beliefs and every feeling or combination of feelings that we have ever felt is stored in our aura, or soul. It is our recorded ‘play list’ of experience and learning and is what we take with us into our next lifetime, where we then augment our experiences and learning with new and different ones.
A client, we’ll call him Paul, recently came to me with an irrational fear (phobia) of cats. He couldn’t bear to even be in the same room as his niece’s favourite pet. During a healing, I asked him to feel his current feelings about cats ‘anxious, nervous, afraid, worried’ he said. Then, with him in a relaxed state of mind, I asked him to drift back to the first time he ever felt like that. He drifted back to well before this current lifetime, in Ancient Egypt. He was a courtier sitting on a big chair, and on another chair was a cat. He felt very nervous of the cat, because cats then were ‘power objects’ of importance and he felt threatened. I asked him to describe his feelings, and they were similar to those he was suffering in the present (anxiety, worry, etc.) After he acknowledged the feelings, we picked up the learning that he had missed from the past life experience (something like ‘I am always safe, even in the presence of cats!) and we returned to the present. Two days later he called and exclaimed that his phobia was reduced by 90% and he could even allow a cat to sit under his chair, which was impossible previously.
This example shows you how the echoes of the past have a significant effect on the present, and how when we resolve the past feelings, the present situations are also resolved.
Usually any situation where you experience an over-the-top emotional reaction means you are experiencing unresolved feelings from the past. The present situation digs up the old feelings and makes you feel very uncomfortable. Sometimes these old feelings are from this lifetime, from early childhood. Other times, they are from past life experiences that remain unresolved.
Once the feelings have been acknowledged and embraced and surrendered to, the whole situation is emotionally resolved and you will no longer attract similar-feeling situations. (Patterns like this occur because our soul naturally draws us to situations that have a similar ‘feel’ to original, unresolved situations, so that the basket of feelings from the old situation can be re-experienced now and hopefully, resolved, as you feel the feelings).
We have all lived many thousands of times, and all the learning and experience is a deep part of who we are. On a sub-conscious level, we know. Often the movies we are drawn to, and places we want to visit, dreams we have, are echoes of past lives that we have led.

Meditation for those experiencing loss
Take a deep breath, relax, and reflect on who or what you have lost. Appreciate and celebrate what you had. Let it go. Know that it has meaning, and importance in it’s time. Know that more good things will come. Let go. Feel safe. Forgive yourself. Notice how you are feeling and embrace it. It’s ok to feel sad, guilty, afraid, worried. Notice all the feelings and embrace them. It’s ok to cry. Let it out. When you are ready, gently return to the room.
Peaceful Thoughts
Peace comes from peace within
War cannot be ‘fought against’ with more war
Neither can hate be counterbalanced by hate
Love those misguided ones
Embrace them if you can, as lost ones
Send them light. Hope they will learn.
Trust in your own good and good coming
Take a deep breath and know that we can overcome this, we are bigger than this.
