There was a loud bang, in the middle of the night, the unique
sound of the heavy Victorian door to our house slamming.
I’ll never forget the sound. I was going to bed,
I saw my young innocent face smiling in the mirror.
Early in the morning, stormy weather outside, and heavy knocking
at the door. It was the police, come to tell us that
my father had been found dead in a car. He had killed
himself. Suddenly my world turned upside down as friends
of the family arrived in the house and everyone milled around
like headless chickens wondering what to do, and why this
had happened. I had to go to Oxford Street to break
the news to my sister, who was working in a dress shop there
and wasn’t at home that night. Our whole family
was shattered by this event. I think we felt so guilty
and estranged from each other, we all went off in different
directions, for years.
All this happened more than twenty years ago. I have since
discovered that the event above is a karmic reflection of
a significant past life where I was a lute player in Old England
and the jealous father of my lover shot me with a crossbow.
I heard a loud bang, ‘bad news’ a the door, saw
my face in the mirror, blood on the mirror, similar feelings.
Events that happen to us are often echoes of other, similar
feeling events. Because when events are shocking, we
tend to freeze the feelings, instead of just feeling them
(which releases them). The ‘trapped feelings’
stay in our aura as part of our recording of experiences,
feelings, and beliefs, and we attract other experiences that
feel similar and reflect those. Over time, as we gradually
learn, through lifetimes, to embrace the feelings, and also
heal the belief patterns that were set up as a result, the
pattern slowly decreases or becomes less drastically expressed.
This is what we mean by healing karmic connections.
Such connections can be healed through a visualisation process,
enabling you to re-visit the very first time that such feelings
were experienced (in this lifetime or past lifetimes) and
simply acknowledge all the feelings that were there.
This then releases them so that the event is completed and
the karmic pattern no longer exists, freeing you.
Soul Mates and Karmic Relationships
We have certain ‘karmic partners’ and friends,
that we work with over many lifetimes. They are rather
like character actors in our ‘play’ – we
explore many different experiences together, learning and
healing. Sometimes one person plays ‘the bad guy’
and sometimes the other person plays it. ‘Bad
Karma’ is a common misconception. There is no
‘punishment’ involved in karma. You don’t
attract ‘bad karma’ from doing something bad.
Merely, having experienced one aspect of something, you may
choose to experience the other aspect. We are God expressing
itself, there is no vengeful God ‘out there’ making
us do things we don’t want! We play at all aspects
of experience, until we decide that we no longer need to express
certain aspects any more, and can choose the ones we prefer.
The ‘difficult’ karmic relationships offer the
greatest gift, as they are full of learning. They can
be intense however!
The deepest yearning of the human being is to re-unite the
masculine and feminine within. This struggle is expressed
in soulmate relationships. If successfully resolved,
the result is that each partner, with a balanced and connected
masculine and feminine side within, is able to relate with
both of those, to the masculine and feminine sides of the
other partner.
If you look around you, you may see many relationships where
one aspect is in play – for example, a masculine man
with a feminine woman, or a masculine woman with a feminine
man, however, the aim is to have both. And to do that,
we must heal all the historical stuff that has gone on between
men and women. We must heal the mistrust and reach a
point of balanced loving between the male and female within
ourselves first, and then with a partner.
Releasing Karmic Connections
Relax, breathe, and imagine yourself in a hall of mirrors.
Choose a mirror, and walk up to it. Notice the person
who is reflected. You step into the mirror and they
guide you to explore what you discover within. Take
time to explore. When you are ready, gently return to
the room and write down what you have discovered.
