25th Rotary Club Charity Gala Evening (21 April)
The Rotary Club Bali, Nusa Dua will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a gala dinner doing what it does best and that is raise funds to support local charities. Chartered on 30 June, 1992 as Bali’s first English speaking Rotary Club, the Rotary Club, Nusa Dua meets every Thursday at Bali National Golf Resort in Nusa Dua. Their contributions to local charities are amazing and worth a mention. Since 1994 the Rotary Club, Nusa Dua has provided over 1,620 cleft lip and/or palate operations on under-privileged children in Bali and nearby islands. If you are looking to get involved in community projects and want to know more you can always join the Rotary Club, Nusa Dua for one of their weekly lunches to which you are more than welcome to attend. The Rotary Club of Nusa Dua really have a lot to celebrate which is why you are invited to join them for a fun filled evening where the prime objective is to raise even more funds to help those in need. Free cocktails are available from 6 pm followed by dinner at 7 pm. The Gala dinner will combine a fund raising programme including raffles, door prizes and auctions with many valuable prizes donated by the generous businesses and hotel communities in Bali. Dive Reflex – Exploring the Science of Apnea (17 April)
Apneista is a community of professional freediving trainers and Yoga teachers training mostly in Amed. Apneista opened in Bali in 2010 as the first freediving community in South East Asia according to the numerous testimonies on their page. Yoga and freediving are seen as life enriching and accessible activities for everyone, not just for sporty people or the spiritually minded. You are welcome to join the five days of freedive coaching, yoga and science based workshops with Frederic Lemaitre. Freediving is about enjoyment, relaxation and acceptance of all marine life. Super Hero Party (22 April)
The action is at the Kid’s Club for a Super Hero party with games, activities and competitions. Sustainable Solutions Festival (16 – 20 April)
Green School’s annual music, arts and environmental festival aims to connect, inspire and equip the community to live more sustainably. Now in it’s fourth year, Green School students and community will come together to showcase their solutions together with providers from different backgrounds – NGOs, social businesses, start-ups, teachers, and other community members. This year’s edition is particularly exciting, rolling over the week with workshops, talks, panel discussions, artistic activities, vendor showcases, documentary screenings and much more. The festival will culminate on the Friday with Green School’s 10 Year Anniversary Celebration. Daily or weekly passes are available. Congratulations on its 10 year anniversary. The Ruiins (13 April)
Bali is attracting more and more international DJs and bands each year. The Ruiins are heading out from Australia to play an exclusive gig in the back yard of Deus and what is more it is free. A free concert, no less! The Ruiins are a popular duo from the mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Their sounds encompass a mix of raw blues and Indie/rock that captivates their audiences and leaves them wanting to hear more. There will be drink specials all night long and the restaurant is open until 10.30 pm. Pizzas are served until closing time. You must reserve your spot particularly if you want to eat.
