Asia’s First TDA Facial

A couple months ago my friend who works for a spa product company invited me to come try out their new facial machine called Transdermal Application (TDA) from Germany. After the facial I was very impressed at the effectiveness and pleasure I had during the treatment. My friend told me that the best results are shown after 4 to 6 treatments. I practically begged to come back for more. I’ve endured a few quite painful facials in the past that did show results but I’m a wimp and don’t enjoy suffering for my beauty. In the next weeks when running into a girlfriend who I hadn’t seen for some time, they’d immediately commented on my face and how great it looked. I told them about TDA saying it was one of the best facials I knew of that actually gave results instantly. Then they asked where they could go get one. Sadly no spas or clinics in Bali at that time had the equipment.

Recently attending an art gallery event at the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay I met the visiting spa expert, who quickly asked if I had heard of TDA facial; the spa had just finished training for it. I had and we chatted about how wonderful this treatment is. I was very happy that finally a spa in Bali had the equipment. I was so stoked by this news that I offered to write an article on TDA and she invited me to come for a treatment the following week.

Before returning to Four Seasons Bali’s Healing Village Spa, I checked with my friend at the product supplier and discovered that Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay is the first spa in all of South East Asia to introduce this equipment. I always love going to the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, feeling very privileged to be invited as a sense of tranquillity encapsulates my being upon entering the spa. After a brief meeting with my new friend I told her how excited I was to be having the TDA. She escorted me to the locker room and informed me that I was welcome to use the sauna, steam-room or plunge pools before my treatment.

This is a pleasant bonus for a visit to the spa. After changing into a beautiful turquoise batik robe I sat in the lounge sipping rose tea as I filled out the consultation form. My practitioner approached speaking excellent English and escorted me to the facial room. She explained that there is a choice of four serums for the PURE TDA – acne, sensitive, hydrating and mature skin. I chose the mature serum and she placed a capsule in the machine.

She explained the treatment included manual Microdermabrasion to gently remove the surface layer of the skin using a selection of warm tungsten tools that would be gently guided over my face, around the eyes and neck. This allows the serum to penetrate the pores of the skin. She asked if I had any areas that I’d like her to focus on; I pointed out around my mouth and neck. Then the ritual began with a gentle cleansing of the face using Pure products followed by a scrub.
She informed me that she was going to start the Microdermabrasion and asked if the tool was too hot. No, it was fine. For the next several minutes I could feel the warm wand gliding over my face in lines contouring my face and neck. Following this I was treated to a relaxing face massage using some pressure points. I could hear the machine activated as she informed me that the TDA was about to begin. I could feel a cold mist guided over my face following the same patterned lines for several minutes.

The mist has nano sized molecules of serum that are able to penetrate into the dermal layer of skin and repair the collagen beneath. Following the mist, she applied a cellulose mask infused with serum over my face. Allowing the mask time to work she performed Jin Shin Jitsyu on 26 energy points to promote optimal health. This still technique was very relaxing. After the mask was removed she told me that vials of the serum are available to purchase in the retail area for home use to perpetuate the rejuvenation of my skin. She handed me a small hand mirror and I was delighted to see the glowing face looking back at me.

After changing back into my clothes I met my friend again and she was amazed at the difference in my now radiant and smoother skin and said I looked ten years younger. I left feeling very happy.

How does the TDA work?
