Calling all families that love kittens and cats — or who just want to help a worthy Bali project. Villa Kitty, near Ubud, has been rescuing, caring for and re-homing Bali cats since 2011. Villa Kitty runs a program called Every Child Deserves a Kitten that educates Balinese kids and their families about animals and their welfare. Each month, Villa Kitty vets travel to the SOS Children’s Village in Tabanan to do monthly checks, de-worm and give vaccines to kittens adopted by the children, who previously could not afford a cat due to poverty.
There are many ways to help support the work of Villa Kitty: make a donation, adopt a kitten or cat, volunteer as a cat-petter or help with fostering young kittens. Bring your kids to cuddle and play with the cats and kittens on Sundays. Villa Kitty cooks up a big staff and visitor lunch at noon and everyone is welcome to join them, and stay on to help after with the furry residents.
You can also assist by becoming one of Villa Kitty’s foster carers and looking after young kittens until they can be neutered and given to a loving home. You can foster even if you are only in Bali for a short time. This is a great way for kids to learn how to care for and bond with animals. Villa Kitty is located at Jl. Ambarawati No.1 No.320, Lodtunduh. For more information, email Villa Kitty on info@villakittybali.com or call +62 821 4794 4216 or +62 812 4692 8317.
