And with that success comes gratitude, much gratitude for all who made the event a great fundraiser and a lot of fun, Not only did Handara Golf & Resort Bali provide a marvelous setting for the golf tournament, the Handara staff could not have been more helpful with the myriad of details it takes to manage a golf tournament. Specials thanks goes to General Manager Shan Ramdas for his support, to Anggi for answer at least a million questions, to Holly for keeping us up to date with lists, and to Gilang for creating great posters and banners.
Another huge amount of gratitude goes to our title sponsor, Sababay Winery. They were our lead sponsor and also donated bottles of their delicious wine to use in the auction and to enjoy during the 19th Hole event.

All funds raised will be donated to three charities: Klinik Bali Sehat to provide basic health care along with education for preventative health care and nutrition in Karangasem Regency, to the WEHEA Project to help prevent the devastation of Wehea National Forest in Kalimantan along with the homes and culture of the Dayak people and the habitat and lives of orangutans, sun bears and other already endangered animals, and to Sewing for Living, a RCBUS project which empowers Balinese women to be able to work from their homes to help support their families. They are taught how to use sewing machines, how to crochet and how to sell their products at local markets and in online stores.
Who is RCBUS and what does it accomplish other than golf outings? The members of Rotary Club Bali Ubud Sunset [RCBUS] are people of action who, in partnership with other Rotary Clubs around the world, are dedicated to providing services that change the lives of others. We implement and support programs and friendships that create sustainable, positive, ethical change in our communities, internationally, and in ourselves.
Members support the club both by their attendance and through active service such as joining committees, contributing to the website, fundraising for projects, suggesting speakers, and greeting guests.
RCBUS asks members to attend as many meetings as possible This can be at our club, or through ‘make ups’ at other clubs around the world, even online via e-Clubs. Many of our members spend only part of their time in Ubud and engage with clubs elsewhere as part of their overall membership in Rotary International. Several of our members who, because of the pandemic, are currently in Australia. They attend meetings via Zoom. Project planning, attendance at functions and project site visits also count as ‘make up’ meetings. What must one do to become a member?
