Riding To Keep A Roof Over Their Heads

Akin to a silent disco, Friday September 13 at The W Hotel was more like a workout on wheels!

It was the second Silent Spin collaboration for W Hotel Seminyak and 15Fit proprietors Pete and Yvette Manuel and like last time it was a resounding success, raising Rp 15,000,000 for an awesome cause.

What began as a novel idea for fitness fans to ride for life appears to have become a regular fundraising event and the pint-sized residents of Bali Mother & Baby House aren’t complaining. Over 50 riders attended the three silent spin sessions, each donning headphones and climbing onto their saddles to raise much needed funds for some very special kids.

From an observer’s perspective, the scene was a little strange as the only noises to be heard were the whirr of wheels, some serious puffing and the calls of encouragement from head honcho Pete! Albeit stationary, cyclists rode toward the sunset with tunes in their ears, a bird’s eye view of the beach and the knowledge that their efforts were all for a worthy cause!

Pete and Yvette recently paid a visit to the Bali Mother & Baby House to present a donation of Rp 15,000,000.00 to the charity, enabling them to cover rent payments for more months to come. Founded in 2016 by a Balinese woman who continues to operate the house with a small committee of expats and three amazing staff, The Bali Mother & Baby House survives purely on donations. Check them out on Facebook @balimotherandbabyhouse or email: 15Fit would like to extend a huge thank you to all who supported the event.

Professional Coaches To Mentor Potential Soccer Stars

Budding soccer players will be treated to an opportunity to train with the world’s best as the Real Madrid Foundation Training Program comes to Bali this December.

The program is the first of its kind on the island. Designed to attract all junior and youth football players exhibiting a variety of soccer skill sets, the clinic aims to develop these youngsters’ sporting potential by focusing on advanced individual training in technique and tactics, problem solving and decision making on the pitch as well as experiencing the values that are associated with Real Madrid such as leadership, teamwork, respect for others, solidarity and effort.

Supplementary to their mission to increase the interest of existing players and reach out to new ones, the training foundation employs a methodology that is used by all Real Madrid C.F. youth teams to educate through practice with the intention of creating healthy sporting habits and collaborating with families on comprehensive education for boys and girls.

Real Madrid Foundation’s Training Clinics in Bali are scheduled for December 16 – 20 and December 23 – 28. For more detailed information about how your son or daughter can register, see reception at Finns Recreation Club.
