February 04 2015 AFL NEWS That Bali icon the infamous end of season footy tour to Bali is now the subject of legal stoush in VictoriaAustraliaIn one corner the assistant coach of AFL club Essendonand good friend of the Bali Geckos Matthew Egan who has launched legal action for damages and costs from medical staff of the AFL club he previously played for Geelong in the other corner In reply the medical staff defend themselves by declaring that the Egan did not follow doctors orders and rest his leg and instead was involved in various activities in Bali including dancing that aggravated the injury Egan sustained a navicular fracture in 2007 and was delisted in 2009 after six further surgeries failed to get him fit to play again As reported by the Geelong Advertiser in defence documents lodged with the court Geelong medical staff Dr Bradshaw and Mr Blac

January 21 2015 BASKETBALL NEWS The 7th Annual Bali International School BIS Invitational Basketball Tournament will be held February 5th through 8th at BIS A tournament for secondary schools in Bali and Java this year for the first time the tournament will have its first international participant Dili International School and Surabaya powerhouse SPY will also attend The basketball tournaments continue with BIS hosting the IISSAC basketball tournament from February 27th through March 1st Meanwhile the second season of the Bali Wheelchair Basketball League got underway last Wednesday with six teams up from the four teams of the inaugural season last year Season continues through to the finals at the Coaltrans Friendly Games on June 7 The teams are lead by last years winners Mitrais together with Jimbaran Cahaya Mutiara Ubud Puspadi BIS and CiBO more

November 12 2014 NETBALL NEWS More than 200 longlegged beauties representing16 teams from Singapore Thailand Australia and Indonesia jetted in to Bali to take part in the SPURS Bali Flames Netball Invitational 2014 on 25 October the largest Netball tournament in Bali to date The tournament has been held at Bali International School annually since 2007 when it started with just a few teams playing some social netball in between shopping and pampering It has developed into a fullday roundrobin with simultaneous games on four courts and backtoback games across four divisions The competition was fierce but it was the Singaporeans and New Zealanders who took home the honours The A Division Grand Final was held between The Bangkok Barbarians a team of expatriates living in Thailand and Paua Rose a team of Kiwirsquo
