My sojourn through the streets of Batu Bolong recently unearthed another magical little boutique, Velvet the Label a shop that is destined to become one of my favourite fashion haunts. Step into this stylish closet filled with local designs and discover a treasure trove of cool, colourful and original pieces to keep you looking your best for every Bali day and balmy evening!
A veteran of the fashion industry, Alana Miller has been successfully producing clothes for other retailers and independent brands since she was in her teens. Buoyed by her continued success, experience and extensive knowledge of the garment industry in Indonesia, she recently decided to channel that creativity into her own pet project and opened Velvet the Label in Gg Nyepi Canggu, (across from Little Flinders Cafe) in August of 2017.
In just a few short months, this divine little boutique is already enjoying a loyal following with images of models and bloggers adorned in Velvet the Label designs gracing many a social media account; a surefire indication that the ladies are indeed loving these fresh new designs. The boutique is intimate and inviting and chock full of ready to wear ladies attire. Peruse the racks of this pretty store and you’ll find florals, frills and flirty styles to suit a broad range of figures. The clothing oozes femininity with flattering and classic cuts branching into edgier pieces that are just perfect for those frozen margarita Fridays girls!!
Find fresh coloured basics for every day wear to pair with flouncy wrap skirts in on-trend season patterns or polka dots and must have animal prints (got to love a little leopard print in every wardrobe I say!). Celebrate Australia Day With a Swim & an Aussie Barbie
Nothing says ‘Straya’ quite like a barbie, some pavlova or a lamington….. Add to that an all day Happy Hour, non stop water slides, a game of handball and a few flying Havaianas and you’ve got everything you need to enjoy a cracking good Australia Day abroad!
Whether you’re an Aussie just visiting beautiful Bali or one who has opted to live here and love it ‘long time’, there’s always a moment when each of us look for a few reminders of home. I can already smell those snags sizzling…..!
