Fulfill Your Foodie Fetishes @ Scran Bali

Long gone are those Bali days where you were forced to travel from shop to shop searching for a delicacy from home or a special spice for a favourite recipe, only to hear the words ‘apa?’ or ‘Maaf….. habis!’ Scran Bali is the delightful and delicious new foodie’s paradise in Kerobokan that stocks a bevy of locally sourced and home grown products from around the island.

Strange moniker maybe for some, but to Jacky and Nigel Ames, Scran means much more than simply a colloquial English term affectionately used to refer to food or provisions. Veterans of successful businesses on the island for many years, Jacky and Nigel wanted to create a one stop shop supplying food connoisseurs with a little slice of home. They sought out local producers in an effort to supply a range of delectable goodies to those of us seeking some hard-to-find delights!

An intimate deli with wooden floors and wall to wall shelves stocked with palate pleasers, Scran can supply you with everything from dried herbs and spices (at very nice prices) nuts and granola by the scoop, home made pies, pasties and sausage rolls, frozen take away packs of home cooked Indian curries from the Bali Centre and fresh fish or meat portions.

Take a stroll past the cold storage section and you’ll be hard pressed to leave empty handed when you peruse their range of locally sourced cheeses and yoghurts, chutneys, sauces, pickled veggies, apple cider vinegar, preservative free ketchups and chilis and desserts.

Not simply purveyors of fine foods, put Scran on your ‘go to’ list if you are searching for organic, gluten free and environmentally sustainable packaging products, homemade soaps, candles, supplements and more.

As if that wasn’t enough to bring you back to this burgeoning Bali Gastrohub adjacent to traditional English style pub,’The Plumber’s Arms’, Scran also offers daily fresh coffee and cake and sandwich specials so you can sit down and enjoy a well earned air conditioned break at a very sweet price!

Located on Jalan Raya Banjar Anayar, Kerobokan, Scran opened its doors to delighted deli fans a little over a month ago and already it’s enjoying a loyal following of foodies seeking their weekly treats. Trading 7 days a week for your convenience, stop by and check out their ever growing range of gourmet delights. Planning a dinner party?

Scran is your first port of call for hors d’oeuvres, deli items, desserts or your whole dinner!

Drop by and see what new delights they have in store this week or give them a call if you are searching for something special on: +62 877 6142 0667 or email them at: info@scranbali.com

Week two from January 1st – January 5th promises to be just as creative as children are invited to ‘get their groove on’ with Dance Week! You don’t have to be a budding Baryshnikov to be a part of it, just be prepared to bust a move and have some fun! Week three (Jan 8th – 12th) gets your youngsters ready and raring to go for the next school term, giving their thinking caps a kick start with Spelling Week!

The Year is New so Make it About You!

Think Christmas is over? Think again! Maybe someone didn’t get the memo but you’ll be forgiven for thinking it’s still the silly season when you see the specials Body Temple Spa has stacked on for January.

The holidays can be fabulously fun and festive and sometimes all that shopping, the constant rounds of catch ups and festive season ‘cheer’ can be a bit stressful on our bodies. With the pressure easing a little in January, you’ve got more time on your hands for ‘you’ so treat yourself to some post Christmas pampering. Holiday indulgences can leave us looking a little puffy and drawn (nothing to do with all that stuffed turkey and champagne….. yeah right!)

No need for despair, it’s nothing that a deluxe Thalgo Facial, Body Wrap or Scrub won’t cure! Book any of these one hour treatments at Body Temple Spa in January and they’ll throw in a New Year treat of a free 60 minute relaxing massage. Now THAT’S something that could come in handy after seeing the sun come up on the first day of 2018 (Hello hangover??)

While we’re thinking massage mmmmmm……. If you’re feeling somewhat frazzled by the constant crowds and tedious holiday traffic snarls, make a detour out of the mire, head to Body Temple Spa and experience ‘time out’ for an hour or two with their new Bamboo Massage. Choose 60 or 90 minutes for this indulgent, full body massage experience. Employing a combination of hand touch and bamboo stick, spa therapists adeptly use their hands to knead tired muscles and ease any tension, following with a warmed bamboo cane, sliding it smoothly over the skin to carefully work through the knots. The result is a firm yet soothing massage from which you’ll emerge feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to face the new year ahead.

If your manic December Christmas schedule meant you missed out on some some basic beauty maintenance and your lashes and brows are bearing the brunt of neglect…. now’s the time to make an appointment at Body Temple because they’re offering 50% percent of all eyelash and brow tinting for the month of January. (Maybe a little wax wouldn’t go astray either?? Especially if your brows are moving alarmingly toward ‘mono’ status!!!)

Make January ‘The Month of Me’ and schedule some serious spa time to bring your body back to fabulous for the new year. Located downstairs at Finns Recreation Club, Body Temple Spa also offers up to 30% discount on all spa services for Finns members. They are open 7 days a week from 10am until 8pm and offer a full range of professional spa services. Bookings are highly recommended and with many returning to Bali after the holidays, make it one of your resolutions to get in early and secure a spot on the spa table to ensure January brings a New Year and a new you!
