Cubby House Kids Club – For Anxiety Free Family Holidays

Much more than just a daycare centre and Bali’s most reliable and trusted option for babysitting, Cubby House Kids Club also offers weekly cooking classes, monthly themed parties and their comprehensive school holiday program is jam packed with a long list of exciting activities to keep your littlies entertained over the summer holiday period.

Kids just want to have fun….. usually in the company of other kids and Cubby House’s current school holiday camp schedule guarantees both of these in bucketloads! The program runs from July 3rd until August 25th and designed with kids aged from 3 years to 12 years in mind.

Just Rp250K nett per child/per day means your cherubs are entertained for a solid four hours of fun, actively engaged in a huge variety of activities, fuelled with a healthy drink and snack as well as the excitement of some colourful craft to take pride of place at home. Sessions run for four hours consecutively and parents and kids can choose to be the early bird at the 9am – 1pm session or opt for the sleep in and come for the afternoon from 1pm ’til 5pm.

Activity schedules change daily so kids who can’t get enough of Cubby House in one session can come back for more the following day and participate in a different line up of activities and experiences with no chance whatsoever of being bored…..as if!!

Cubby House provides a safe and secure environment for your children with an optimum ratio of qualified carers to kids. Many of their staff have been with Cubby House since its inception at Semara Seminyak several years ago – a testament to the fact that they love the kids and their job!

In addition to Cubby House’ Holiday Program and After School Care, the kids’ club also runs regular weekly cooking classes every Saturday morning from 10am. Cubby House Kitchen is proving very popular indeed and a taste of the recipes that these budding master chefs have the chance to try their hand at include Honey Joys, Ice Cream Tacos, Sandwich Art and Tasty Tortilla Shapes. Decked out in their colourful aprons and Cubby House signature head scarves, sticky fingers are a certainty as they complete these culinary creations to take home for morning tea…..though we can’t guarantee they won’t eat it first!

Cubby House also hosts themed kids parties twice monthly. Kids can come dressed in red for the Lady Bug Party on July 9th or find their favourite Frozen costume for the Disney themed party of July 23rd. Parties commence from 1pm until 5pm.

A kids only zone for sure, parents are welcome to drop in and check on how their child is settling in but for the most part, it’s parent free! Mums and Dads, Cubby House Kids Club allows you to take a moment to enjoy some of the island’s more adult friendly entertainment while your kids enjoy some tailor made fun of their own. Cubby House is your easy answer to an anxiety free family holiday in Bali.

For the Love of Pets…. Lend a Paw

There’s no denying Deb Banfield loves dogs. A visitor to Bali many years ago, Deb’s love for animals extended to Bali’s stray dog and cat population when she came to the island as an integral step in her long journey towards recovery from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after twenty years in the navy. She founded Bali Pet Crusaders as a form of therapy for her problems and as a way to ‘give back’ to these animals and ‘thank’ them for delivering her moments of joy when she needed it most.

Bali Pet Crusaders has been instrumental in the sterilisation of thousands of homeless and rescued dogs since its inception just a few short years ago. They provide greatly subsidised sterilisation of local dogs and cats (free for those who are unable to afford it) in an effort to lessen the number of unwanted animals and reduce the suffering for those poor animals who aren’t fortunate enough to find their ‘furever’ home.

Deb lives in Australia with Doogle, her beloved assistance dog. Doogle is what’s referred to as a Mind Dog: a fully trained psychiatric service dog that helps people with mental health disorders to still live a full and happy life. Though she resides off the island, Deb makes regular visits to Bali as she is still instrumental in the management of the organisation and their amazing team here and plays a huge part in coordinating the fundraising and donations that basically facilitate the incredible work that Bali Pet Crusaders and their volunteers continue to do.

Unfortunately, Deb received some tragic news of late regarding Doogle’s health. Like most avid animal lovers, Deb feels she must put her furry family member’s needs above those of her role with the Pet Crusaders for the time being and desperately needs our help to maintain the level of awareness about the group and the funds required to continue this organisation’s valuable work on the island.

Bali Pet Crusaders are an accredited Australian charity and have the Australian Charities and Non Profit Commission’s tick of approval. 100% of donations go towards paying their vets and buying vet medicine and supplies. They try to maintain administrative costs to an absolute minimum and no member of the board or volunteers receive financial remuneration. All finances and records for Bali Pet Crusaders are monitored and produced by Deb and are audited by Mr Stuart Murray, CPA on a pro-bono basis.

Deb and the team at Bali Pet Crusaders are reaching out for assistance to help keep them afloat. If you can spare some money to donate to this amazing animal loving cause, please do so! All donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia and are a great way of reducing your taxable income and assisting Pet Crusaders and the pooches and pussycats of Bali that need your help!

You can donate via direct bank transfer or by Paypal. If you feel you would like to help in a different way, check out their web page for their wish list of surgical items they desperately require for the sterilisation process. You might also be able to assist by sponsoring or fostering a pet, particularly if you live in Bali, or if you own a business, what about becoming a corporate sponsor? All details regarding bank details and ways to donate can be found on their web site: balipetcrusaders.org

Whether you live in Bali or visit on a regular basis, have fallen for those sad puppy dog eyes staring out at you from the sidewalk or even given protective cuddles to a little fur baby you’ve found on the pantai, like me you’ll want to help. Instead of putting your Rupiah towards that next Canggu coffee or Bintang at the beach bar, consider the pup that’s got its paws in the sand next to you and send some Bali Pet Crusaders’ way. Bali’s forgotten pets will raise a paw in thanks.
