House of IOCO
for Femme & Homme

Ah there’s nothing like a new fashion discovery and this is one place that won’t disappoint!

The House of IOCO is large & shares the entrance of the building with the newly re-located Heliconia flower showroom. Plenty of parking at front, a real bonus these days in Seminyak, and situated right on Sunset Rd just before you turn left into Jl Kunti I.

A number of folk know IOCO from years ago, however, today it’s a ‘different being’ considerable restructuring has taken place along with a renewed energy, IOCO (pronounced EYOCO in English) has been revived and restored to a wonderful fashion showroom where lots is going on!

This change has been bought about by the charming Eric Guth and his gorgeous wife Monica Ku who are the formidable team behind this transformation both smart and savvy in their respective fields. Eric comes from a hospitality service industry background and Monica originally hails from Bali, schooled in Perth, studied at Central St Martins (part of the University of The Arts, London) enjoyed an internship in London and Paris and takes a lot of inspiration from the famous Japanese fashion designers. Monica shows great skill & flair as a designer and can be very commercial in her thinking (which is unusual for most couturiers) so she can apply her designer ‘know-how’ be it a linen combo to a very beautiful couturier gown!

The IOCO label offers a large selection of stylish daytime coordinates in cotton, linen & rayon made into jackets & pants, tops & blouses along with some great little dresses. Many of the pieces feature asymetrical & drape with ruching & pleated details. In fact, everyone of all ages & sizes can easily find an outfit or two to refresh their new season wardrobe. A fresh color palette of white, light grey, charcoal, mauve and sage arrives instore in December offering you new outfits for the coming Christmas & Holiday Season parties, dinners and events.

There’s what they term, Limited Editions which include small collections, ‘Only by IOCO’ the ‘Shibori Dye’ and ‘Mistinguett’.

The ‘Only by IOCO’ label that is currently instore features stylish shapes in quality natural fabrics of cotton, fine linen & silk, some fabrics are handpainted & matched with rayon, silk jersey or stretch mesh. Lovely applique work & hand embroidery make for a edgy fashion statement!
Mistinguett is the dressed-up label for IOCO which comprise of a lovely selection of gorgeous cocktail & evening gowns in classic colors of silk & silk organza embellished with sequins & beads. This label is exclusive to IOCO on Sunset Rd.

Men haven’t been forgotten either, there’s a smart casual line of pants, shirts & unstructured jackets in linen and cottons offering some great colors!

In a large emporium of fashionwear you are bound to find a selection of accessories like jewelry, purses & bags, hats, sandals, shoes and espadrilles (some for men too!)

For a specially designed bridal gown why not commission Monica to weave her magic! Dresses for the bridal party along with dashing suits for the men. No wedding is complete without a beautification plan. NOA (the new beauty salon within IOCO has it’s own entrance too) will be at the ready to glam you up for your special day for hair & nail treatments to a fresh natural make-up. And finally, be sure to make contact with Heliconia (next door) for floral ideas to suit your bridal celebration!
A note re the sales staff at IOCO they are some of the most helpful & obliging ladies to assist you in your selection and will organise their inhouse tailoring services if you require.
If you pick up the Bali Advertiser today (14 November) you just have time to inquire about a fashion designer show tonight (Monica Ku is one) Town Square Hotel, Jl Nakula, Seminyak. Call the hotel for details. The organisers are APPMI an organisation specifically for Indonesian fashion designers.
