Suara Semesta – Voice of Universe – 5 December

Pyramids of Chi in Ubud is putting on a concert by Suara Semesta in an exploration of Primordial Sound through Mantra, Sacred chants, Didgeridoo, and Gong. According to Hindu creation myths, the vibration of the OM created the universe. In Aboriginal myths, the sound of the Didgeridoo vibrated the universe into existence. Upon close inspection OM and the Didgeridoo have similar sonic waveforms – the waveform of Primordial Sound.

Beach Runwalk 5km – 8 December

If you love sunrise beach walks you can now join a group of locals, expats and tourists on an early Saturday morning and run or walk a free timed 5km out along the picturesque Sanur coastline just as the sun is rising. Annual BIWA Bazaar – 9 December

This annual Charity Bazaar is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited social events of the year and is hosted by the Bali International Women’s Association (BIWA). Some 200 plus stalls offering a wide range of merchandise and food will satisfy your shopping needs and entice your taste buds.Combine this with an all-day program of music and dance performances and you are guaranteed to spend a delightful day while supporting BIWA’s social welfare projects. Proceeds from the bazaar sales will be earmarked for various projects like sewing courses for financial independence, funding to provide care for abandoned babies, and financial aid to allow mentally disabled and hearing-impaired children to attend school. BIWA is a secular, non-profit charity association for women from different nations and cultures residing in Bali. Since its founding in 1974 the organization has provided aid for people from all walks of life in Bali, particularly women and children, by offering help and resources to local families.

Weird Wonderful Waterlife – Lembongan – 11 December

This free and informative presentation is courtesy of the Marine Megafauna Foundation and takes place in the Yoga Shack.

Pemuteran Bay Festival – 12 to 15 December

Since 1990 the fishermen village of Permuteran Bay in Buleleng, in collaboration with Biorock Reef Conservation Technology has been transforming the Pemuteran bay in a marine reef eco-park designed as an eco-tourism destination. What started out as a festival to promote diving and ecotourism along the tranquil shores of North Bali, the Pemuteran Bay Festival has evolved into a highlighted event in this area. It showcases arts and culture of North Bali and extensively features the award-winning fishing village’s underwater bio-rock reef and conservation efforts. It is a splendid combination of Balinese art, culture and environmental conservation. This year’s theme of ‘The Spirits of Rwa Bhineda’ will see newly built structures for reef conservation submerged on December 13th starting at 09.00 am. Come join the fun and enjoy music, dance, cultural performances, F&B stalls, kid entertainment, biorock and art trash workshops and a fishing tournament for jigging and bottom fishing on December 15th with a prize purse of 10 million for the biggest and heaviest fishes.

Traditional Ceremony in Tenganan – 17-19 December
