Bali Vegan Festival at Canggu – 12 to 14 October

Thanks to the enormous success of previous vegan festivals in Ubud the Bali Vegan Festival is launching a Canggu edition for the first time this year in celebration of animals, the environment and the earth. This community-minded festival aims to inspire, educate and enlighten about an alternative way of living and eating. The Canggu edition will focus on environmental issues, oceans, surf, and fitness. The festival is open to all, proud vegans, vivacious vegetarians, omnivores, flexitarians and the vegan-curious. You will meet world-class vegan chefs, yoga teachers, healers, musicians, comedians, environmentalists and vegan lifestyle enthusiasts from all walks of life and all across the globe. Vendors all throughout the festival will showcase their delicious vegan dishes, as well as vegan clothing, handicrafts, jewellery and beauty brands. Come and enjoy awakening talks, community discussions, cooking classes, vegan products and culinary wonders.

Ubud Lip Sync Battle – 13 October

Jimmy Fallon’s tonight show seems to have inspired an Ubudian version of the famous Lip Sync Battle, a hilarious segment that has the world in stitches. The Third Ubud Lip Sync Battle will be taking place at Betelnut and will undoubtedly provide a unique and humorous chance to watch eight pre-selected contestants in action. Each contestant will perform a one-minute long lip sync of well-known songs, adding their own unique twist. The audience votes and decides who moves to the next round. Come and partake of this mirthful entertainment.

Kuta Beach Festival – 19 to 21 October

The 2018 Kuta Beach festival promises to be a riotous event this year and is inviting you to participate in the KUTA BEACH FESTIVAL SUNSET RUN 2018 on the last day of the festival, 21 October. The KRC Sunset Run 2018 will be held at Kuta Beach over a 5 kilometers long distance with a beautiful sunset to accompany you across the beach. Online registration for the sunset run at

Bali Pink Ribbon Walk & Run – 20 October

Bali Pink Ribbon Foundation (BPR) is organising its annual charity 5KM Bali Pink Ribbon Fun Walk & Run to raise funds for the support of the foundation’s breast cancer awareness education and screening work targeted to underprivileged women in Bali and surrounding islands. This has become a very popular event in the 10 years since the first walk. This year’s profits will be used to set up a Rumah Singgah for breast cancer patients undergoing treatment. Participants from in and around Indonesia and beyond of all levels of fitness are welcome to join for the 5km fun and relaxing walk. This year they are looking to have 1,500 people join this walk for a cause. Stalls selling food, drink and shopping will be set up in the ITDC gardens with a kids corner to keep the young ones entertained, a raffle and auction for fun fundraising and live music until 9pm. In addition FREE breast screenings are offered for women by doctors from Prima Medika Hospital.

Ubud Writers & Readers Festival – 25 to 28 October

The yearly UWRF is a veritable smorgasbord of literary and arty delights. Even if you are not a book lover, many events at the various venues are bound to perk up your interest. Almost 50% of the festival’s events are free. There is a full plethora of free event offerings including non-mainstream movies and documentaries, art exhibitions, musical and comedy entertainment, poetry slams, children’s programs and fringe events.
