Nusa Dua Fiesta – 28 and 29 September

Nusa Dua is putting on another fun and colourful fiesta for the ninth year. You are invited to participate in 2 days of arts exhibitions, shows, cultural performances and sporting events at various venues throughout Nusa Dua. Come and peruse various exhibits of handicrafts, watch the cooking competition held by the Indonesian Chefs Association and enjoy live bands with national headliners, percussionists and local artists performing world music in the evenings. There will be fashion shows by designer boutiques and tenants from the Bali Collection, the main shopping complex in Nusa Dua. This also gives you the chance to watch the spectacular Devdan Show at the adjacent Nusa Dua Theatre on the main stage.

Paws & Play Lunch at KILN and KIN – 29 September

Come and bring your (well behaved) pooch to the newly launched Paws & Play lunch at Kiln on Petitenget. Kiln is organizing this event dedicated to our much loved four legged friends and dog lovers alike to benefit Mission Pawsible, a small organization dedicated to rescuing street dogs, rehabilitating them and finding them forever homes. A special dog menu for this occasion including Raw Turkey & Duck, topped with Air Dried Anchovies will be prepared by the Kin Raw Dog Food people so the four footed lunch companions can eat quality and nutritious cuisine alongside their humans!

Mission Pawsible will have an adoption pen where you will be able to meet some homeless pups looking for loving humans, and register interest in adopting a rescue puppy. Due to a lot of interest in this event, reservations are required.

Mandiri – Badung International Night Run – 30 September

Here is a new slant on running: you can now chase the sunrise on the Nusa Dua and Bali Mandara toll road by registering for the first night-time run event to be held in Bali. Some 3,000 national and international runners are expected to enter for the Full Marathon (42K), Half Marathon (21K), 10K and 5K races and compete for 500 million prizes. Organised by the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) under the theme “Run Across The Sea – Chasing the Sunrise”, this run is held in celebration of the 9th anniversary of the Badung Regency “Mangupura” (capital city) and represents a commitment to a healthy lifestyle via the promotion of an international sporting event held in Bali.

Introduction to Permaculture Workshop – 1 to 3 October

Tri Hita Karana, the Center for Permaculture Education in Ubud is putting on a 3-day workshop to teach you all about the practicalities, ethics and principles of permaculture. This is a hands-on course to gather the necessary knowledge and skills to become an eco-conscious/permaculture practitioner. It includes instruction in jamu making, beekeeping & honey harvesting, designing and installing a clay oven and designing and installing a composting toilet. Bring a notebook, pen, water and gardening clothes.

Bali Vegan Festival – 5 to 7 October

The 4th annual Bali Vegan Festival will be held both in Ubud and Canggu. Its goal is to share vegan wisdom in practical ways and to inspire people to experience and choose a more compassionate, ethical and healthier lifestyle through plant-based eating, spreading a message of kindness, compassion and love for animals and the earth. Since 2015, the festival has sparked transformation within the minds of the vegan-curious and the vegan-sceptics alike with awakening talks, community discussions, cooking classes, vegan products and culinary wonders. This community-minded festival is open to all, proud vegans, vivacious vegetarians, omnivores, flexitarians and the vegan-curious. The festival unites world-class vegan chefs, yoga teachers, healers, musicians, comedians, environmentalists and vegan lifestyle enthusiasts from all walks of life and all across the globe. The Plataran XTrail – 6 October

Another family-friendly fun run, this time in the gorgeous environment of West Bali National Park. A genuine trail run with a mixture of forest paths, beach, hill slopes, and rainforest single trail. There will be very little tarmac road concrete in the final race course. Elevation gain in West Bali NP is only moderate, but there are a few hills to be negotiated in the beginning of the course. These add spice to the race and will offer some breathtaking views of the coastal area. This is a runnable course in a very beautiful setting that will appeal to trail lovers of all levels.
